Lucky Day

Today I decided to test my luck. Florida has this new Lucky for Life scratch off Lottery ticket. You can win $200,000 every year for the rest of your life. Now the ticket is $20 just for one try and of course odds of winning are like 1 in 564,568,26million. However I thought well if anyone can win this of course I can, right? I went to the grocery store stood in line with my $20 and bought my lottery ticket.

Driving home I fantasize of all the things I would do with my winnings. After all I could share the wealth a little, pay off debt, feed the world, take lavish trips. Then the thought occurred to me after taxes that's only $100,000. OK so I might have to pay off debt and put part of it down on a new house, then I couldn't quit my job I would still have to work. OK so maybe the next year after winning I could quit then and live a grander lifestyle.

I finally get home sit down with my penny to scratch off the winning #'s. I randomly start scratching a # here a # there, thoroughly checking each one again and again. Then it happens all that I have been hoping and dreaming for I see wining # 34and in my #'s it's 34. WOW, this is amazing I can travel the world take pictures, and finally quit my job. I was so excited and sure of myself that the amount underneath would match my daydreams, then reality hit and I won $100 Granted I am very happy to have won my money back but disappointed to say the least.

Then we went to dinner later and I walked into the restaurant and found a dollar bill on the ground, is that divine intervention and God telling me to buy another lottery ticket or pure dumb luck, either way at least I feel a little luckier now working in my cubical. hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go!
